How I Get My Female Groove On

Self-Care Playlist: Over 50 songs

How I Get My Female Groove On

My Self-Care Music Playlist

Let’s be honest ladies. We all have our favorite go-to music that we secretly like to jam out to, right? And if you’re anything like me, there are a few songs on that list that you’re secretly a little bit embarrassed by just how much you love them. Do you secretly blast the volume while you’re driving in your car alone, and sing at the top of your lungs when no one can hear you? Or do you crank up the volume and have a dance party while you’re cleaning or getting ready for the day? Maybe you put on your ear buds and jam out while running or exercising. Or…. You’re just like me and all the above apply! I don’t know what it is about my play list, but I find it to be so empowering and motivating. If I’m feeling down or unmotivated, music has a magical way of lifting me up. I truly believe that music is medicine for the soul! Whenever I have a task that needs to be done, I pop in my ear buds, open my Amazon Music Ap, and play my “Ashley’s Female Groove” Playlist! In this blog, I’m going to share what tools I use to look for my music, store my music and listen to my music! Then at the end I’ll share my favorite self-care “Female Groove” playlist!

Technology has come along way since this OG started to get her jam on! I remember when I would sit around as a pre-teen at night listening to the radio with my cassette player ready to record. The best time to record was when the station was playing the Top 40! The DJ would introduce the song, so I knew it was coming. Then I would hit the play/record combo on the cassette player and record the song, only to hit stop as soon as the song was over and before the DJ came back on the air. It was a rigorous exercise that took a lot of discipline and patience! All of you younger ladies be glad you never had to experience this; it was frankly a pain in the ass!

Then came Napster, which was AMAZEBALLS until they got in trouble and changed their platform. But Napster was great in that they paved the way for things like Amazon Music, and Apple Music Subscription based platforms. I’ve gone back and forth with both but have settled on the Amazon Music platform.

Now, with Amazon Music, you have a few of options.

Amazon Music Free

Amazon Prime Music

Amazon Music Unlimited

For a more detailed dive into all the nitty gritty, you can go here and get all the details and differences with the above options. Personally, I use the Amazon Music Unlimited Family Plan.

With this plan, I get about 75 million songs that I can listen to. I can share the plan with up to 5 family members, and I can create playlists and stream on up to six devices at one time!

OK, so most of the time I just listen to my playlist on my phone, but if I’m at home, I will use one (or all) of my Alexa Devices.

I have the Echo Show  in my living room and the Echo Dot in each of our bedrooms. It awesome because I can tell Alexa to play on ALL devices or play on a specific device.

If I’m out in public or other people are around, I’ll use me Beats™ ear buds.  I like these over the traditional ear buds, because they seem to stay in my ear better, they’re sweat proof and have a microphone on them if I need to use them to make a call.  and I think the sound quality is AMAZING!

Now that you know my favorite music streaming platform, listening devices and ear buds, it’s time to share my favorite self-care/empowerment jam playlist! Feel free to copy it or take what you want and add to your own play list!  Also, I would absolutely LOVE to see what songs are on your playlist, so be sure to let me know if the comments, or drop me an email at theashtreehome@gmail.com

Until then…Happy Listening!
